Save as much as $1,000 on a new propane-fueled mower under the Propane Mower End-User Incentive Program launched by the Propane Education & Research Council. PERC seeks to put as many as 600 new propane-fueled commercial mowers into service nationwide through the program.

Eligible professional mowing firms can get up to $1,000 for buying a qualifying propane-fueled commercial mower with a cutting deck of 60 inches to 72 inches. The firm must share details with PERC about its use and operation of the mower for one year. Many major manufacturers offer propane-fueled mowers that qualify, including Bob-Cat, Cub Cadet, Dixie Chopper, Exmark, Gravely, Husqvarna, Kubota, Scag Power Equipment, Zipper, and Briggs & Stratton and its Ferris and Snapper Pro lines.

Propane-fueled mowers cost less to operate and produce fewer harmful emissions than gasoline-fueled mowers. Propane mowers can reduce carbon monoxide emissions by more than 80 percent and greenhouse gas emissions by nearly 50 percent compared with gasoline mowers.

The incentive program joins PERC’s Mower Dealer Demonstration program which will place 300 propane mowers with equipment dealers nationwide to demonstrate the performance, reliability, and easy refueling of propane mowers.

We recently received an email that Freightliner is doing a national tour for its new Cascadia 113 day cab! It is traveling from Long Beach, California to Washington, DC on CNG. The semi will be filling up at the CNG pump located at Piedmont Natural Gas on Century Boulevard in Nashville, and the Neely Coble Company is holding an event that will combine a celebration of the company’s 60 years in business with the Freightliner Natural Gas Tour on Wednesday, May 23, 2012. See below for more details and to RSVP!

Freightliner Trucks has partnered with Cummins Westport to provide the new ISX12 G heavy-duty natural gas engine as a factory-installed option. The truck is EPA 2010 and CARB emissions standards compliant and is dedicated natural gas – either CNG or LNG! The fuel tank options offers a number of vendor-installed configurations, including up to 155 diesel gallon equivalent CNG configurations, more than doubling the fuel capacity featured in previous produce offerings. It features the ISX12 G engine which has 400 hp and 1,450 lb-ft torque, an optional engine brake, as well as manual and automatic transmission options.

In addition, the truck will be pulling a display trailer that will provide additional information on the future of Natural Gas powered trucks.

This is a big opportunity to see this truck in person and ask questions about the vehicle! If you utilize HD trucks and think this truck could be in your future, this is your best chance to begin learning about it now!
